Every dollar that is raised for the Gainesville Fisher House the national organization, Fisher House, will match dollar for dollar. In order to build the largest Fisher House with 21 suites we will need to raise $2.5 million to be matched. So, if each person in every club, organization or business that will be touched by this Fisher House were to give $2 the Fisher House will match it and we will have the funds to build it. It’s just that simple. We have already raised our first $1 million dollars and have large fundraisers planned for more large donations.
Club, Corporate and Institutional Participation Opportunities
Each Club, Corporation or Institution of course, must decide for itself how they can get involved. Here are some ideas to consider:
- Join the Combined Federal Campaign, giving to the Gainesville Fisher House Foundation through your participation at your workplace
- Start an in-house campaign in your corporation. Our volunteers are available to make a presentation about the Gainesville Fisher House Foundation to help you get started.
- Start a fundraiser of your own or dedicate a fundraiser you already have in place.
- Join in on one of our Fundraisers, our new on-going support projects like the
Chris Doering Celebrity Scramble for the Gainesville Fisher House or
the 2010 Wild Game Feast of the Rotary Clubs of Gainesville.
Each of these fundraisers have the opportunity for corporate or business sponsorship
Individual Participation
- Walk of Courage– A walkway surrounding the new Fisher House will have dedicated pavers and bricks. This presents an opportunity to honor an individual or create an inspiration. This can be done on-line or by mailing our form.
- Justice for the Intrepid-A challenge issued by our local attorneys to all attorneys within the service area of our Fisher House to join with their Bar Association in raising support.
- We are seeking a corporate or individual sponsor for our children’s playground.
- The adjoining meditation Garden, a place for respite and reflection for patients and family members, is available for sponsorship.
